Confidentiality
Access To Medical Records
In accordance with the Access to Health Records Act 1990 you are entitled to sight of your medical records. There will be a charge for any photocopies that may be requested. You are also entitled to a copy of any referrals to consultants.
Your Right To Privacy
You have a right to keep your personal health information confidential between you and your doctor. This applies to everyone over the age of 16 years and in certain cases to those under 16. The law does impose a few exceptions to this rule, but apart from those you have a right to know who has access to your medical records. Please ask for a leaflet at Reception.
